Welcome to my personal page! My name is Andrius Pocius and I’m currently working as Logistics administrator at Bakkavor.

As I intend to try myself in a data analytics field, I decided I need a website, where I can showcase my projects and skills and this is how this web page came to fruition.

As I currently do not feel I possess all the skills necessary for being a data analyst (I still have not used nor Tableau nor Power BI, and do not program in Python or R), I will keep adding posts and protocol my progress.

So why do I want to change my carer to data analytics?

I always liked data and charts. That is why I developed my own web app to track my working hours and pay in Flickerbook which now enables me to pull out interesting statistics like average hourly or daily pay or display data using charts. I just enjoy transforming data from database into a simple to understand chart.

Why do I believe I can land a data analytics job?

While developing my own projects, I learned how to code and It should be a lot easier to pick a new programming language like Python. I also learned and have practical experience with SQL and JavaScript chart libraries like CanvasJS and Chartjs, so if I can create charts with these libraries, I do believe once I start working with Tableau or Power BI I will manage to learn how to use them 😉

The only thing in my way now is time! I wish I had more spare time where I could finish my projects and start studying Python and Power BI/ Tableau, but it’s not easy to do when your working overtimes, going to gym and doing all the chores, but step by step I feel I’m making progress.

And to monitor my progress I will be using this website. I will try to add any project that I believe will help me to showcase my data analytics skills. As I currently do most of the analytics through web apps and excels, some projects may overlap (for example the same project can appear in web projects and data analysis categories).
